If you enjoyed watching “Our Miss Brooks” a TV series back in the day, then you will love the Shiner Gaslight Theatre summer production, “In Praise of Miss Brown.” This two-act comedy, directed by Bill Matthys from Cuero, is about the life of Constance Brown, a teacher, and her five teenage students. Set in Miss Brown’s home, the play deals with the students’ encouragement of Miss Brown’s romance and her election of Teacher of the Year.

Performances are Fri., Sat., and Sun., July 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 and August 2, 3 and 4. A Wednesday performance is July 24th. All are in the evening except for Sundays, which are matinees. Regular tickets go on sale Mon. June 26th.
