Jamestown Man Arrested on Federal Drug Possession Counts
A Jamestown man is facing federal charges stemming from a street check in the city that took place in April. U.S. Attorney Trini Ross announced Thursday that 34-year-old Craig VanHook was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department and the DEA, which was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.

Man Arrested After Attempted Theft at Allegany Walmart
(WNY News Now) – Allegany – A Portville man, Justin T. Hellmer, 36, faces charges of Petit Larceny following an incident at Walmart in Allegany, NY. Justin T. Hellmer was apprehended by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on July 15, 2024, at approximately 12:30 PM. He was reportedly caught attempting to leave Walmart on Plaza Dr with unpaid items. The arrest followed an investigation into the incident. Hellmer was subsequently released on an appearance ticket and is slated for arraignment in the near future. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
