Mother and son from N.J. admit lying about cheap equipment they sold to U.S. military
A mother and son from New Jersey have both pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from the sale of cheap parts for military equipment to the U.S. Department of Defense. Linda Mika, 73, of Jackson, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey said in a news release. Kenneth Mika, 53, of Ewing, pleaded guilty to same charge last month.

Since it's required by the state for the school year to consist of at least 180 days, if the Garden State did decide to start school in mid-August, that would translate to an earlier start to summer break at the end of the school year.
