Intense heat retreats, more rain on the way
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Good morning. Grab the umbrella today. While stronger storms have moved out, more rain is on the way. The cold front is heading east from the Ohio Valley. Showers are expected this afternoon into this evening. Rumbles of thunder will also be possible. Temperatures will be much cooler this afternoon, and eventually humidity levels will lower by tonight. Friday looks great with seasonal temperatures and more comfortable humidity. Meanwhile, we’ll see humidity increasing this weekend with scattered showers and storms. ‘There’s life after incarceration’ for Charlottesville youth
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Second Chancer Foundation is working to bring more resources to incarcerated youth at the Blue Ridge Detention Center. Thursday, July 18, community organizations set up inside the detention center to connect for a couple hours. Organizations like PVCC, Ready Kids, Home to Hope, and The Fountain Fund joined in. The goal is to help youth know what resources are available to help when they get out.
