Norwin Public Library Concludes Popular Children’s Summer Reading Program with Art Gala
The Norwin Public Library's nine week Children's Summer Reading Program, "Adventure Begins at Your Library", came to a conclusion on August 14th with a Children's Art Gala. Seventy-nine children submitted original pieces of art for the event. A record number of children – 1,047 -participated in this year's program. Throughout the nine-week program, children were encouraged to read every day and track their weekly progress. Children borrowed 19,616 books in June and July and 2,728 children and their caregivers attended one of 40 educational children's programs offered this summer. The Children's Summer Reading program was sponsored by the Friends of the Norwin Public Library.
