ISP Trooper arrests man on motor vehicle theft charges in Bedford
BEDFORD- On July 17, at approximately 1:15 a.m. ISP Trooper Jesse Crane was dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Sunny Acres Drive in Bedford on a report of trespassing. The property owner called about a man she knew as “Ian” being on her property without permission. There was a gate to the driveway, and no trespassing signs were posted prominently. The male was told to leave the property in early July when the owner evicted another woman. Trooper Crane had been to the address earlier in the evening for the same complaint but could not locate the male.
Felon arrested for stealing firearm from neighbor’s vehicle
BEDFORD—At approximately 7:00 a.m. on July 22, BPD Officer Steve Hatton was dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of 24th Street about a report that a male had attempted to illegally enter a motor vehicle. At 6:39 a.m., a man can be seen in security camera footage at the home attempting to open the driver’s door of the vehicle. After the man finds out the car is locked, he can be seen walking to where the neighbors have their cars parked.
Free Haircuts and Backpacks for Students in Washington This Sunday
With the school year about to begin, RTC Communications and ColdCutz in Washington are teaming up to offer free haircuts and backpacks this Sunday. From 12 PM to 6 PM, children can receive complimentary basic haircuts, and from 3 PM to 6 PM, they will also be giving 150 free backpacks filled with essential school supplies.

Hotel coming to site of old VCSC building
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Plans to tear down the old Vigo County School Corporation building have been announced. The building at Seventh and Wabash has been vacant for several years since it was acquired by Terre Haute’s redevelopment department back in 2021. While the timing of the demolition is unknown, it has been decided that the site will be used to build another hotel. Redevelopment department director Jordan Marvel says Terre Haute hotels are constantly near capacity.
