Logan Zeitler drove in the tying and go-ahead runs with a two-out, two-run single in the top of the seventh and the Rams did all their scoring in the final frame to pull out a road win over the Mustangs, extending their perfect start to 5-0.

Chris Colonna led off the top of the seventh with a single before Brick Memorial pitcher James Martin retired Matt Desiderio on a flyout and Ray Mulher on a fielder's choice groundout. Gabe Tomei kept the game alive for Southern with a double to place runners on second and third and Brick Memorial opted to walk Brady Lesiak to put the go-ahead run on base.

The decision backfired when Brian Harper drew a walk to force in Southern's first run and Zeitler dropped in a single to center that scored both Mulhern and Lesiak.

Tyler McLeod came on to nail down the save with a one-two-three seventh inning that included a pair of strikeouts.

Brick Memorial broke a scoreless deadlock with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Nicco Maribo led off with a double and scored on a throwing error on Joe McGlynn's bunt one batter later. Tyler Garbooshian then singled home McGlynn.

The Mariners mounted a two-out rally in the top of the seventh thanks to a walk and two Toms River South errors and Kieran Mulholland finished off a complete game and a rivalry win over the Indians.

Dominic Urso appeared to start the Toms River North rally with a one-out single, but Ruben Febres took over on the mound and picked him off for the second out. Ian St. Luce then walked to reach for the fourth time in his four plate appearances and errors on back-to-back batters allowed the go-ahead run to score.

Nick Daniele gave Toms River North an additional insurance run with an RBI infield single to make it 5-3.

Mulholland won an eight-pitch battle vs. Billy Madigan to open the bottom of the seventh and retired the next two batters for a one-two-three frame to complete his outing.

Toms River North erased two deficits in the game, starting in the fifth. Toms River South scored twice in the bottom of the fourth -- one on an RBI double by Ben McEwan and another on an RBI groundout by Cooper Greitz -- to take a 2-0 lead.

St. Luce got both runs back with a two-run double in the top of the fifth, but Toms River South again countered with a run in the fifth. It was again McEwan who picked up the RBI, this time on a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded to give the Indians a 3-2 lead.

Toms River North turned a pair of walks leading off the fifth into a run, with Jason Verderossa playing Logan Mulholland with an RBI groundout to tie the game, 3-3.

Senior right-hander Jack Tiernan pitched a five-inning no-hitter on 55 pitches and the Purple Roses cruised to 3-0 with a rout of the Scarlet Fliers. Tiernan took a perfect game into the top of the fifth before walking the leadoff batter of the fifth, who was erased on a caught-stealing.

The no-hitter is the second of the season for St. Rose, which authored a combined no-hitter in a season-opening win over Henry Hudson, also started by Tiernan.

Freshman Luke Lonczak hit a ground-rule double with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Charlie Stumberger from second base with the winning run and the Caseys walked off with a win over the Jaguars.

Jackson Memorial erased a 7-2 deficit over the final four innings, capped by a three-run rally in the top of the seventh against RBC ace Declan Leary to tie the game. Leary entered with two out in the top of the sixth and needed only two pitches to pitch out of danger, sending the game to the seventh with the Caseys ahead, 7-4.

In the top of the seventh, Leary retired the first batter of the inning before Brady Wendell and Nick Izzo followed with back-to-back hits, with Izzo punched a double into the rightfield corner to put runners on second and third while bringing the tying run to the plate.

Leary retired Tyler Huzzy for the second out, then hit Jacob Soto with a 2-2 breaking ball that stayed up and hit him in the helmet. Dane Jorgensen then delivered a two-run single through the middle and both Soto and Jorgensen moved up a base on a throwing error from the outfield to put the tying and winning runs on second and third.

Leary grazed Joe Naffaa for another hit-by-pitch with two out, loading the bases for Collin McCarron, who hit a slow roller to third base. Caseys third baseman Sean Griggs made the charging play and throw to first, but McCarron dove in head first and just barely beat the throwing, allowing Soto to score the tying run. Leary then induced an inning-ending fielder's choice to keep the score tied, 7-7.

In the bottom of the seventh, Charlie Stumberger led off with an eight-pitch walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Al Delia. A.J. Sciametta flew out to centerfield for the second out and Jackson Memorial left-hander Matt Colaneri jumped ahead 0-1 on Lonczak on a half-swing.

On the next offering, Lonczak drilled a deep drive to the left-centerfield gap and the ball bounced over the fence. With Stumberger on second base prior to the play, he was cleared to score and the Caseys celebrated their freshman's big hit.

Joey Preston hit a go-ahead RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Lions added some much-needed insurance in the fifth to set up junior starter Dylan Zech for his second win of the season on the mound.

Brayden Messina doubled home a run in the fifth to extend Lacey's lead to 3-1 before Ethan Anderson knocked in two more with a single that capped the Lacey scoring.

Zech cruised through the first six innings but ran into trouble in the seventh, when the first two Brick batters of the inning reached against -- one via an error and the other a Luke Bilheimer single. David Golini came on and promptly game up an RBI single to Chris Quick that cut the Lacey lead to 5-2.

Golini quickly recovered and recorded a strikeout, but Bilheimer scored on a wild pitch during the following at bat. Once again, Golini shook it off and induced back-to-back popouts to end the game.
