Illinois trucking company, brokerage file for bankruptcy liquidation
A 36-year-old Illinois trucking company and brokerage ceased operations recently and filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation. B.T. Trucking Inc. of Broadview, Illinois, doing business as Blue Thunder Trucking, and its three affiliated companies — B.T. Transportation Group Inc., JPL Transport Inc. and Rysoti Inc. — filed for Chapter 7 liquidation on July 19 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Bench trial date on permanent injunction set for Lowry/Lockport/Park lawsuit
CENTREVILLE — Miscommunication between the St. Joseph County courthouse and lawyers in a major local lawsuit led to a new date being set for a key part in the case. On Tuesday, St. Joseph County 45th Circuit Court Judge Paul Stutesman set a Tuesday, Sept. 3 date for a bench trial to determine if a permanent injunction can be issued in a lawsuit filed by Tom Lowry against Lockport and Park townships. Proceedings will begin at 8 a.m. on that day.

Man displayed machine gun while filming music video on Chicago Riverwalk: prosecutors
CHICAGO — An 18-year-old man was ordered detained as a safety risk after he allegedly displayed a machine gun while filming a music video on the Chicago Riverwalk. Police responded to a 911 call about people with guns near City Winery, next to the Dearborn Street bridge, around 8:30 p.m. on July 15, a CPD report said. The caller told police that four men and four women were flashing guns and filming a music video near the bridge.

Man Sentenced on Drug Possession Charge in Grundy Co.
A 50-year-old Montgomery man was recently sentenced in a Grundy County court case. Michael Najar pled guilty to the unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a class four felony and was sentenced to two years of section 410 probation. Najar was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office in the 4200 block of Route 47 in January of 2023.
