The San Francisco 49ers Will Trade Trent Williams to the Chicago Bears
In more drama coming from the San Francisco 49ers, offensive lineman Trent Williams is holding out of training camp alongside Brandon Aiyuk. Unlike Aiyuk, Williams isn’t seeking an extension to his current contract but is looking for guaranteed money. At this point in his career, Williams knows any given snap could be his last, yet he remains arguably the best tackle in the league. Williams, who just turned 36 years old, has three seasons left on his contract, but none of it is guaranteed. However, he wants reassurance. If the 49ers cannot make that happen, the Chicago Bears should consider a deal to bring Williams in to protect Caleb Williams‘ blindside.
