The Plains Truth: Auburn DL coach Vontrell King-Williams joins the show
Heading into his first season as a position coach in the Southeastern Conference, Auburn's Vontrell King-Williams has a group that is deep but still searching for playmakers as the Tigers get ready for the 2024 season. With sophomore Keldric Faulk taking on a leadership role on the defensive line and some big additions from both the transfer portal and the 2024 signing class, King-Williams has a group that will see plenty of competition this fall as Auburn prepares for another tough schedule.
War Ready falls to Herd That in second round of The Basketball Tournament
War Ready’s run at a TBT championship ended on Sunday afternoon, as the team full of Auburn alumni fell to the No. 1 seed in its region, Herd That 63-59. Herd That, who is coming off of a semifinals appearance in last year’s event, is composed of mostly Marshall alumni. The contingent of former Thundering Herd have been a staple of “The Basketball Tournament” since 2018, although the team has only reached the quarterfinals twice. That didn’t stop Auburn’s Alumni from nearly taking down the experienced Herd. Wendell Green Jr. and company led the contest end-to-end until the late minutes of the...

Former Auburn 2025 commit joins long list of Big Cat Weekend visitors
This weekend, Auburn will roll out the red carpet for its most crucial targets for Big Cat Weekend. This weekend, Hugh Freeze and his staff will host several notable recruits. Among those names are those who have already committed and those who are pledged elsewhere. There will also be a special case for one recruit: trying to win him back. Tyler Lockhart, a four-star linebacker from Winona, Mississippi, is scheduled to return to the Plains this weekend after backing off his pledge to Auburn last month. Lockhart has not joined another recruiting class since de-committing from Auburn, but it is heavily speculated that...

Texas A&M players weigh in on DJ Durkin's hire at Auburn
Auburn first-year defensive coordinator is no stranger to the now-former SEC West. Hired by Hugh Freeze more than three weeks after Ron Roberts' departure as defensive coordinator, DJ Durkin now enters his third straight stint in the now-defunct SEC division, after previous stops at Ole Miss and Texas A&M. He's coached against Auburn the past four seasons, and is now tasked with fine-tuning and unleashing the Tigers' defense in 2024.
Jason Caldwell's Monday morning quarterback column
Before I get into the rest of the league, I thought Hugh Freeze, Payton Thorne, Eugene Asante and Keldric Faulk represented Auburn very well. There's honestly very, very little to be learned at these gatherings any longer, so it's now more about the SEC Network and making it a TV event. That's just the way it is.
