Bernie, Shawnee Community College's Mascot, Gets a Stylish Makeover

Bernie the Saint Bernard, Shawnee Community College's beloved mascot since the mid-1970s, recently underwent a remarkable update.

In line with the institution's emblematic color, Bernie's fur is now maroon.

The mascot's redesign includes a new shirt and custom-made tennis shoes from Sugar's Mascot Costumes.

College students from the cosmetology program were instrumental in the change, giving Bernie a dye job that led to his new hue.

Bernie, sporting his new look, will feature prominently at the Johnson County Fall Festival Parade in Vienna.

The mascot will also appear at various campus events in the forthcoming fall and winter seasons.
