Kate Middleton used this style trick to make her waist look even smaller during her 2011 royal wedding to Prince William. She ensured her appearance would look balanced as she presented herself to the world on her wedding day .

The style trick Kate Middleton employed to balance out her wedding look

Kate Middleton always had a slim figure. She kept fit and trim by following a healthy diet. And by participating in outdoor activities such as field hockey and tennis.

As the world watched her marry Prince William in 2011, Kate knew she had to find a balanced and proportional look. To achieve this, she relied on the gown’s designer, Sarah Burton, to help her create an ethereal statement.

Stylist Miranda Holder’s remarks about the hidden trick Kate used to create a tiny waist in a TikTok video.

“The hidden padding in Kate’s wedding dress to make her waist look even smaller,” she reveals. “Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen is no stranger to making women’s figures look even more incredible than they already are.”

Holder added, “Let’s face it, Kate doesn’t really need any help. However, Sarah understands just how important proportion and balance are in any outfit. To make the most of the beautiful figure wearing it.”

“So Sarah added extra padding around the hips and bottom area, making Kate’s tiny waist look even tinier. Thus, it’s all about adding volume to certain areas to make other areas of the body look smaller.”

Kate Middleton’s wedding dress created a sensation

Sarah Burton designed the future Princess of Wales wedding dress for Alexander McQueen. At the time, Burton had only been a designer at the fashion house for one year.

“It has been the experience of a lifetime to work with Catherine Middleton to create her wedding dress, and I have enjoyed every moment of it,” Burton stated. “It was such an incredible honor to be asked, and I am so proud of what we and the Alexander McQueen team have created. I am delighted that the dress represents the best of British craftsmanship.”

The royal family’s website describes the gown as follows. “The lace design was hand-engineered (appliquéd) using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Alternitavely, “individual flowers” were “hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design. Which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil, and shamrock.”

Subsequently, hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace were used throughout the bodice, skirt, and underskirt trim. The website claims those who worked on the gown “washed their hands every thirty minutes to keep the lace and threads pristine.” Needles were changed every three hours to “keep them sharp and clean.”
