The Voice fans loved when Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton fell in love. The No Doubt frontwoman was married to rocker Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2015, and Shelton was married to Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015. Stefani and Shelton connected with their shared divorce experiences. A source recently shared that Stefani and Rossdale, who co-parent their three sons , are getting along better than ever, making Shelton insecure.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani never expected to fall in love after divorce. The couple talked about how they had many similarities when it came to the end of their marriages, which brought them together. Shelton and Stefani then fell in love and married in 2021. Stefani now embraces country life in Oklahoma and has stepped into the country music world with her famous husband while her ex, Gavin Rossdale, remains in Los Angeles.

Stefani and Rossdale don’t have much of a friendship post-divorce. The couple separated in 2015 after over a decade of marriage following allegations that Rossdale had an affair. However, a source told Life & Style that the exes are connecting over their son, Kingston, and his blossoming music career .

“Gavin always said he’s never gotten over Gwen,” the source said. “Now, their blooming boy Kingston seems to be doing really well, and they’re leading the charge to get his career going. They’re very proud; it’s beginning to bring them closer again after all these years of awkwardness.”

The insider added that Rossdale “has his problems” with Stefani and Shelton, ” … but he’s more than happy to let Kingston establish himself and hopes it breaks down some of the awkwardness between him and Gwen.” However, Rossdale and Stefani “talking and getting along” allegedly “tugs” at Shelton’s “insecurities.”

“At one point, Gwen saw Gavin as the love of her life, so anytime they hang out for extended periods and laugh and get along better, it makes Blake worry,” the insider continued.

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani have publicly spoken about their lack of a relationship as exes and co-parents. In March 2024, Rossdale talked on the Amy and T.J. podcast about wishing he had “more of a connection” with Stefani.

“The biggest thing would be when you see the kids that sometimes there’s a loss,” he said. “It’d be nice if there was sort of more of a connection with the person who made them with me.”

Rossdale added that he never envisioned himself getting a divorce . “I feel bad for my kids, that’s it,” he continued. “I wish I could have found a way to not have that in their lives. It wasn’t fun for me to come from a broken home. … It can be quite debilitating for kids. … The overriding thing is you don’t want to let your kids down.”

During an interview with Nylon Magazine in April 2024, Stefani and Shelton discussed the insecurities they share in her marriage.

“I had been going through those times where you’re questioning: ‘Oh my gosh, am I just getting older? Am I cute?’” Stefani said. “In my own relationship, even though I know the truth of what’s happening today, you still create drama in your own mind about your insecurities and what might happen. I was in that phase of the relationship with Blake and getting paranoid.”

Shelton noted they both have the same insecurity. “These are conversations that she and I have with each other: ‘Are you still going to love me when I’m old or if I forget who I am?’” he added.
