Body language expert Judi James spoke to DailyMail.com about Garner and Affleck’s body language. According to James, Affleck, who seemed in high spirits with his ex, was “‘safe-harboring’ here, pulling into what could seem like the safe, familiar harbor of his ex-wife and his children while his current marital problems blow over around him.”

“This is common behavior when there are problems in a second marriage, and the first family unit can suddenly seem like a comfortably familiar and seemingly non-judgmental refuge …,” James continued.

As for Garner, she sent out “signals of approval and even pride in her ex Ben here.”

“Jennifer seems to be like-minded with Ben, suggesting they form a united bond as parents,” James added. “Their body language here shows up some subliminal mirroring. She also looks totally comfortable in conversation with Ben. The pair appear to chat in an engaged and relaxed way here, still chatting when the children are distracted by a phone and a menu.”

Garner and Affleck’s middle child, Fin, also attended the family dinner. According to James, Garner and his two kids looked at “Ben with expressions of non-judgmental pride, warmth and fondness here must feel like the kind of emotional ‘stroke’ he desires right now, and his own body language appears to undergo a dramatic change as a result.”

In June 2024, body language expert Blanca Cobb told Fox News Digital that Lopez and Affleck looked “cordial,” but not in love, while at Affleck’s son’s basketball game.

“It’s a kiss on the cheek, like when you see a friend. Even his stance, the way his body is angled, is more platonic than romantic,” Cobb explained. “And his feet are in a runner’s pose as if he’s there for a few seconds before he moves on.”

Lopez’s body language looked “reserved and protective,” Cobb said. “She looks guarded, holding her purse close to her midsection as if to shield herself psychologically.”

“This physical distance, often a response to relationship issues, can be a source of emotional turmoil, a feeling many of us can relate to,” the expert continued.

Affleck “has been very focused on getting Violet ready for move-in,” the source explained. “It’s, of course, a huge deal for the whole family, and they’ve all been so excited the last few weeks.”

Lopez also has a very close relationship with Violet , and she’ll certainly miss spending time with the oldest Affleck kid.
