Prince Andrew’s Ex-wife Sarah Ferguson’s Blunt 6-Word Response When Asked About King Charles Evicting Them From Royal Lodge

Prince Andrew has lived at his residence for more than two decades. And even though the disgraced Duke of York is no longer a working member of the family and has no role in King Charles’ slimmed-down monarchy, he’s still enjoying some royal perks. One is living on a massive 98-acre estate known as Royal Lodge in Windsor with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson .

Even though the prince was associated with the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and was accused of sexual assault (which he denied), Queen Elizabeth II was never going to evict her favorite son from the property. But there’s a new sheriff in town these days and it seems King Charles is doing everything he can to get his brother to vacate the residence.

Now the Duchess of York has been asked about possibly being evicted, and she had an interesting six-word response to that question.

Prince Andrew signed a 75-year lease to live at Royal Lodge

Royal Lodge was passed onto Prince Andrew following the death of his grandmom, the Queen Mother, in 2002. It has a total of 30 rooms including seven bedrooms spread across the two top floors, as well as a large drawing room known as The Formal Room, a saloon, and an indoor swimming pool. The duke put extensive renovations into the property totaling around $9 million before moving in.

In 2003, Andrew signed a 75-year lease to live at the estate and pay £250 ($329) a week. That agreement makes it challenging for King Charles to get his sibling to move out, as he has no legal grounds to do so. But that doesn’t mean the monarch isn’t trying.

The king is laying off Andrew’s security detail at the mansion, telling the 10-person staff not to return once their contracts expire in October. The Independent reported that by “axing the duke’s entire security team Andrew now has to either finance them himself or leave the mansion entirely.” Moreover, Charles slashed his brother’s annual allowance in 2023 essentially pricing him out of running Royal Lodge.

However, sources claim that Andrew has proposed to stay in his beloved mansion by utilizing a mobile security unit instead, which would be at a much lower cost.

At some point over the last few years, Andrew’s ex-wife moved into Royal Lodge and the Duchess of York has been staying there ever since.

The Mirror reported that Sarah was asked during an interview with the Spanish outlet ¡HOLA! TV about the rumors that King Charles is trying to evict her and the prince from the home.

She issued a surprising six-word remark saying: “Don’t always believe what you read.”

But when reporter Samara García Mendez pressed her further on that matter, Sarah claimed that she wasn’t “privy to the conversations” adding: “I don’t know. I take every day as it comes.”
