Taking place five years after 2022’s Jurassic World Dominion , the new installment will put Scarlett Johansson in a world that has become largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. But humans and dinosaurs face off again when the creatures are found to be the key to a life-saving discovery.

Scarlett Johansson admitted that she’s been trying to join the Jurassic Park franchise for at least 15 years. Now that her Marvel Cinematic Universe obligations are over , the Oscar nominee now looks to lead a new franchise.
In Jurassic World Rebirth, Johansson plays Zora Bennett. She’s a covert ops expert hired to lead an expedition into isolated environments meant to recreate the ideal conditions for dinosaur survival. Bennett aims to extract DNA from the three largest dinosaur species that are still standing.
Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid
The Jurassic World Rebirth cast features Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid. He’s described as Bennett’s most trusted team leader and a partner to the covert ops expert.
Ali’s participation in the latest Jurassic Park installment is something of a surprise, given the actor’s resume. His selectivity is well-known in the film industry. But with his Blade role pushed back , Ali took the opportunity to join Johansson in the 2025 blockbuster.
Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis
Jonathan Bailey trades in the historical romance of Bridgerton for the science fiction of Jurassic World Rebirth . He’ll play paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis.
Official production stills from the movie show Bailey alongside Johansson, suggesting that Dr. Loomis will be brought along on the dangerous mission as the team’s dinosaur expert.
It will be Bailey’s biggest film role yet. He’s coming off a supporting role in Wicked and will return to the movie musical’s sequel in 2025.
Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs
Rupert Friend ( Homeland , Obi-Wan Kenobi ) also features in the Jurassic World Rebirth cast. He’ll play Martin Krebs, a drug company representative who hired Bennett for the risky expedition.
It’s described as a starring role for Friend. Whether he’ll be sympathetic to Bennett’s team or play the greedy businessman archetype remains to be seen. The film reunites Friend with his Asteroid City co-star Scarlett Johansson.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays a crucial role in the film. He plays Reuben Delgado, the father of a family stranded on an island after a dinosaur capsizes their boat.
Garcia-Rulfo is best known for being Mickey Haller in the Netflix legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer . Now, he’ll inhabit a role that has become a Jurassic Park staple: A civilian on the run from dinosaurs.
The rest of the ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ cast and characters
Zora Bennet’s team will consist of Philippine Velge ( Station Eleven ), Bechir Sylvain ( BMF ), and Ed Skrein ( Deadpool , Rebel Moon ).
The Delgado family will also include Luna Blaise ( Manifest ), David Iacono ( The Summer I Turned Pretty ), and Audrina Miranda ( Lopez vs. Lopez ).
Franchise stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum are not expected to appear.
Jurassic World Rebirth arrives in theaters on July 2, 2025.
