Meghan Markle Will ‘Never Return’ to the United Kingdom if She’s Forced to Do This 1 Thing, Insider Says

Meghan Markle does not have a great relationship with Prince Harry’s family. She might return to the UK at some point, but not if she’s forced to do one specific thing while she’s over there.

Meghan Markle left the royal family alongside Prince Harry back in 2020. The two were tired of the lack of freedom and the confines of always having to put on an act when behind closed doors, things were not what they seemed. Since leaving, Harry and Meghan have been living life on their own terms, but many people have noticed that Meghan has not been back to the United Kingdom since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.

Security has remained an issue for the two in the UK, but rumor has it Meghan also won’t return to the UK if she’s forced to do one specific thing.

Meghan Markle refuses to stay with Prince Harry’s relatives during UK visits

Harry and Meghan left the family on poor terms, and it seems that things have only gotten worse between them and the royals over time. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex distanced themselves years ago, and although Harry has somewhat of a relationship with his father, King Charles, he doesn’t speak to his brother, Prince William.

Harry has previously said that he will not bring his wife and kids back to the UK until they have proper security, but there is reportedly another caveat to Meghan returning — she will not stay with the royal family.

The Independent reports that royal expert Tom Quinn told Mirror, “Meghan has said she’s only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own, and the security they both feel is essential.” He added, “Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband’s relatives.”

Meghan reportedly has no interest in bunking with the other royals, but given the tension between her and Harry’s family members, this makes sense.

Although Meghan reportedly would not want to stay with Harry’s family in the event of a return trip, there is no guarantee a return trip will ever happen. Harry has said before that security remains an issue for his family, and since King Charles isn’t working with the British government to fix that — and Harry lost his court case arguing for better security — it seems that he and Meghan are no closer to returning to the UK than they were a couple of years ago.

These days, Harry and Meghan reside in Montecito, California, where they’re raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Harry has returned to the UK on a number of occasions but doesn’t have any reported trips in the near future. Time will tell if Meghan ever makes her way back to the UK.
