‘Forbidden Love’ Stars Eli and Laurie Just Had Their First Baby

Laurie gave birth to a son on Sept. 7. She and her husband Eli appeared in the first season of TLC's 'Forbidden Love.'

Meet the proud parents! Eli and Laurie from TLC’s Forbidden Love have welcomed their first child.

The couple shared their love story on season 1 of the reality series about couples from different religious faiths. Cameras followed along as Laurie, who was raised Catholic, prepared to convert to Orthodox Judaism so that she could marry Eli. In the season finale, she completed the coversion process, clearing the way for her and Eli to get married. Now, the pair are mom and dad to a baby boy.

Laurie gave birth to her and Eli’s first child on Sept. 7. The little one arrived at 10:10 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and measured 20 inches long, TLC shared in an update.

The couple haven’t revealed their baby boy’s name. But Laurie did post photos of her and Eli with their infant on Instagram, as well as a short video of the car ride home from the hospital. In the post, she also opened up about their emotional journey to parenthood.

“From meeting at an AA meeting to becoming best friends, lovers, and navigating an orthodox Jewish conversion for over a year and a half—now engaged, married, and welcoming our first child,” she wrote. “Living my dream life with my perfect partner in crime. Giving birth to our son has opened my eyes to how truly blessed we are. You just have to ask, and God provides.”

“I’m in love all over again,” Eli commented on his wife’s post.

The TLC couple married in June 2023

While Eli and Laurie just made their TLC debut this summer, the Forbidden Love couple has actually been married for over a year.

“On June 18, 2023, I married my best friend and soulmate,” Laurie shared in a post the day after the Forbidden Love finale aired. “Hashem’s timing is perfect, and the journey so far has been beautiful. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.”

In a post on his Instagram, Eli described his and Laurie’s wedding as “A day I’ll never forget and always remember.” He admitted that keeping his relationship status under wraps for so long had been a challenge.

“I’m the luckiest man alive. That’s my mf wifeyyyyyy!!! Oooweeeeeee!,” he wrote in a Sept. 9 update. “Disclaimer: I haven’t been able to post about my wedding or anything relationship wise for over a year so you will be bombarded tremendously within the next few days enjoy.”
