Season 19 of Sister Wives debuted on Sept. 15. While most of the episode offered more of the same tired interactions and manufactured drama, fans of the series were surprised to find Christine Brown, who emerged several seasons ago as a fan-favorite, somewhat unlikeable. After the episode aired, a handful of viewers criticized the mother of six for how she behaved toward her ex. There is plenty of reason to believe Christine Brown might not be over Kody Brown just yet. The season 19 premiere isn’t the only time it was evident.

Christine Brown has been a fan favorite on Sister Wives for years, but season 19 might turn the tables. At the very least, the premiere episode suggests Christine is in her peak mean-girl era and not yet over Kody Brown.

In the season 19 premiere, Christine was exceptionally petty when she refused to acknowledge Kody Brown and Robyn Brown at an event they all attended. Later, in a confessional, Christine admitted that she made a conscious decision not to acknowledge them despite them being in the same, small room.

Several times in the episode, Christine was overly animated when discussing her feelings, which felt a bit rehearsed and theatrical. Reddit users were quick to criticize the mother of six. Several viewers pointed out that Christine doesn’t seem to be over Kody Brown because of her bitterness during the premiere. Now, that may change as the season progresses, but based on her social media activity, that seems unlikely.

Some fans have argued her happiness is an act even before the season 19 premiere

While Christine’s over-the-top behavior and sheer pettiness indicate she has some unresolved feelings regarding Kody Brown, it’s far from the first time those emotions have been on full display. Christine Brown spent her early relationship with David Woolley using him as a prop on social media.

After she announced her romance via Instagram, she posted regularly with Woolley. Most Sister Wives fans had no issue with his active involvement in her family life from early on in their relationship. Some viewers, however, voiced concerns over Instagram posts that used David Woolley to purposefully troll Kody Brown. Several social media users pointed out that monetizing her relationship and using her new beau to irritate her former love wasn’t exactly a mature decision. While fans initially rooted for her romance, they’ve grown largely tired of the semi-regular jabs at her ex, despite her insistence that she’s deliriously happy with her new love.
