Janelle Brown and Meri Brown never saw eye-to-eye. The former sister wives were already at odds when Sister Wives premiered nearly 15 years ago. Now, they are no longer bound by their plural family as both women have left Kody Brown behind. While Meri and Janelle are no longer family, Janelle recently revealed the one thing she has in common with Meri.

When did Janelle Brown and Meri Brown leave Kody Brown?

Janelle and Meri Brown opted to leave their plural marriages to Kody Brown a little more than a year after Christine Brown and Kody Called it quits. Janelle was the second of his wives to reveal she and Kody were no longer together. She announced the split in December 2022. Meri posted an official announcement on Instagram in January 2023. Christine announced the end of her spiritual marriage in November 2021.

Meri was Kody’s first wife. They legally married in 1990 but divorced in 2015 so Kody could “legally restructure” his plural family and adopt Robyn Brown’s children from a previous marriage. At the time, Meri and Kody claimed they were still spiritually married, but fans never bought it. Janelle and Kody married in January 1993. They separated multiple times before calling it quits for good.

What do the former sister wives have in common?

Janelle and Meri might not have found common ground during their 30-year-long plural marriage to Kody Brown, but they officially have one thing in common. In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode of Sister Wives , Janelle commented that she and Meri stand to walk away from their long-standing plural marriage with no assets. People obtained the clip.

Janelle noted that their only asset from the marriages is their stakes in Coyote Pass. When the season was filmed, it was unclear if they would ever be able to cash in on that investment. Jenelle quickly pointed out that Christine left the marriage with equity from the home she owned in Flagstaff. She noted that Robyn Brown also has a home in Flagstaff that belongs to her. She would get half of that asset if she ever divorced Kody.

Janelle did note that Meri was leaving the marriage with a small business but admitted that didn’t count as a marital asset because Meri didn’t use family money to fund it. Janelle lamented that she and Meri were left to hope their Coyote Pass investment would allow them to move forward.

Meri and Jenelle should get together and sue Kody and Robyn for the price of their piece of land. Plus put receipts together on money put in for down payment and monthly payments.
