Janelle Brown is opening her own business. The mother of six announced the launch of Taeda Farms earlier this week.

Janelle Brown has exciting news for her fans. The mother of six has moved on from Flagstaff, Arizona, and is planning for her future with a new business. When Sister Wives is officially over, she’ll have a flower business to fall back on, and Kody Brown has nothing to do with it. She has formally announced Taeda Farms.

Janelle Brown shares plans for a new business

Janelle Brown is starting her life over now that she’s left Kody Brown and her disastrous plural marriage behind. Just days after the premiere of season 19 of Sister Wives, Janelle took to Instagram to announce a new business. The mother of six has launched Taeda Farms, a fresh-cut flowers business based in North Carolina. The business is the brainchild of Janelle, along with her daughter and son-in-law.

Janelle’s flowers are not yet available for sale, but fans can still support her business. The company’s website just released merchandise to help get the business up and running. Plenty of fans have already moved to support the small business. As of print time, most t-shirt sizes are already out of stock.

She has been planning the business for a while

Janelle Brown is planning to launch the business in North Carolina now that she owns property there, but that isn’t where the idea was born. Janelle filed paperwork to establish Taeda Farms while living in Flagstaff. The mother of six even discussed possibly building greenhouses on the Coyote Pass property she co-owned with her former spiritual husband and ex-sister wives. Her dream business is one reason she vetoed returning to Utah before Christine separated from Kody.

Once it became clear that her marriage to Kody Brown was over, Janelle switched gears. While she insisted she initially loved Flagstaff, it appears it wasn’t her forever home after all. In March 2024, she purchased a sprawling property in North Carolina, close to where her daughter, Maddie Brush, currently resides with her husband and children. The business is just the next step in her plan to start over somewhere new.

Janelle Brown won’t be the only former sister wife with a small business

While Janelle will be the first Brown family member to run a floral business, she isn’t the only business owner who walked away from Kody Brown. Meri Brown also owns a small business. Kody’s first wife purchased a bed and breakfast while still spiritually married to Kody. She moved to the property in Parowan, Utah after the end of her marriage.

Meri initially asked the family to help her with funds to purchase Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, but they refused to pull money from the family account to help her secure the property. Meri raised the capital independently, opened the inn, and ran it successfully for several years. She recently shut down the inn portion of the business for renovations but plans to reopen it.
