However, A-listers might not respect Kelce just yet. Here’s what an insider shared.
Travis Kelce allegedly doesn’t ‘fit in’ yet with Hollywood elites
Travis Kelce started as a tight end in the NFL, but he’s quickly moving into the Hollywood sphere. His high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift puts him in contact with all the right people. When his NFL career ends, he’s ready to jump into the world of acting and show business full-time.
While Kelce has high aspirations, a source told The Sun that his transition into Hollywood might be “trickier” than he expects. “Travis is a star because of his relationship with Taylor Swift, his championship football prowess, and the natural charisma he has shown on his podcast and elsewhere,” the source said. “But making the transition to a true Hollywood mainstay is a lot trickier.”
The source explained that Kelce hosting Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? isn’t helping his budding career as much as he thinks.
“For all the hype around his potential Hollywood career, he still hasn’t taken off the training wheels,” the insider continued. “Even though he’s trying to establish his show business brand apart from Taylor, can he really do any of this without her there every step of the way?”
While Kelce is hungry for fame and glory, he must keep working hard. “Travis doesn’t fit in that world yet,” the source added. “And the last way to get in with the likes of George Clooney and Julia Roberts is to want it as badly as Travis does.”
The NFL star has allegedly ‘accelerated his Hollywood game plan’ in 2024
Travis Kelce will play for the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2024/2025 season. However, he’s already looking forward to his next career move outside of football. Kelce recently took on a role in the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler, a “dream come true” for the NFL player.
“Working with one of the best in the business is the best way to learn, and he sees that opportunity as a way to open more doors in the movie industry, for other acting roles, and to show what he is capable of in this industry,” a source told The Sun.
In May 2023, another source told Life & Style that Kelce “is not messing around” regarding his future career. “[H]e’s totally accelerated his Hollywood game plan and made multiple trips to town completely stealthily and sewn up a lot of support and opportunities in the process,” the source said.
Travis Kelce has ‘marketable’ attributes that will make him a star with or without Taylor Swift, an executive says
Travis Kelce hasn’t earned the respect of Hollywood elites just yet. However, Rachel Richardson, a former Snapchat executive, told Page Six that Kelce has “marketable” qualities that intrigue fans.
“Travis is letting us see all sides of him — both his alpha and beta tendencies — and I think that makes him more, not less, marketable,” Richardson said. “He’s a three-time Super Bowl winner who proudly rocks a friendship bracelet. He takes risks with his style that could be seen as pretentious, but then kicks it with his brother on their podcast. He’s top of his game, and comfortable enough in his masculinity to be with a woman who is at the top of hers.”
In addition to acting, Richardson said she wouldn’t be surprised if Kelce takes a deal with a “high-end fashion house.”
