Jennifer Lopez Loved Showing Off Her Relationship With Ben Affleck Through PDA

Jennifer Lopez enjoyed her PDAs with Ben Affleck so much she didn’t care about how many paparazzi captured their kisses on camera.

Jennifer Lopez wasn’t shy about making out with ex-husband Ben Affleck whenever the opportunity presented itself, even when they were out in public. Lopez set the record on what aspects of her relationship she was okay with showing to the public not too long ago.

At the height of their relationship, Lopez and Affleck engaged in a lot of PDA the way normal couples would. The only difference being, given their celebrity, they risked cameras surrounding them at any given moment. Lopez once addressed her frequent PDAs with Affleck on the radio station Heart F.M., and why she didn’t mind the attention they brought.

“I love public displays of romance,” the romcom star said. “I don’t know if I would love a proposal, I think that that’s a more intimate thing between two people. But I have no problem with PDA, like people say, I actually, I’m all about it! If you really feel it.”

Still, Lopez appreciated what true alone time she and Affleck could spend together. For two people who could have anything in the world, their wealth couldn’t always afford them the privacy they wanted. Which might’ve made their moments alone even more special.

“Those are those times when it’s not about, like, the big public thing,” she said. “It’s just about two people connecting, going away, taking walks, being somewhere, for me, being in the public eye, being somewhere where there’s not going to be a lot of cameras, where we can kind of trick the paparazzi and just have a quiet beautiful moment together. Where we just get to be regular people and talk about life and be together and enjoy each other’s company, that to me is very romantic.”

Affleck and Lopez officially divorced on August 20th. Their split came after months of rumors speculating about their relationship status. Back then, for every clue that pointed to Lopez and Affleck breaking up, there seemed to be another that indicated they were staying together. But the speculation continues even after their divorce.

The celebrity couple have been photographed on several occasions seemingly hanging out like old times. Recently, it was reported that Lopez, Affleck, and a few of their children were spotted at the famous Beverly Hotel Polo lounge. According to a source for Page Six, the usually private Affleck allegedly hoped the paparazzi would catch him and Lopez at the hotel.

“It was Ben Affleck’s idea to meet there,” the source said. “He wanted those photos. You go [to the Beverly Hills Hotel] when you want to be seen. Paparazzi hang out there.”

The source went on to claim that the Gigli co-stars showed the same kind of PDA they were known for back when they were a couple. And perhaps further confused onlookers in the process.

“Once they were together, he could not keep his hands off,” the source said about Affleck. “They have always had a lot of sexual chemistry. That was not planned. They are still attracted to one another.”

It’s no secret that the media attention played a huge role in breaking Affleck and Lopez up the first time. The Oscar-winner confirmed this in Lopez’s documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told. It didn’t help that Affleck and Lopez had differing views on what they should share in public.

“I had a very firm sense of boundaries initially around the press while Jen I don’t think objected to it in the way I did,” Affleck said. “I very much did object to it.”

So when they reunited all those years later, Lopez’s social media presence was initially a concern for the Gone Girl star. He brought these concerns to Lopez before having second thoughts.

“Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media,’” Affleck said. “And then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like you’re gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water.’ We’re just two people with kind of different approaches trying to learn to compromise.”

It’s unclear as of now if history repeated itself, and Lopez’s continued social media presence helped break up the two again. But if reports of recent PDAs are true, it seems this Bennifer saga might be far from over.
