For years, Sean “Diddy” Combs hosted major celebrities at his parties. These events were notorious for their debauchery, which continued into the early hours of the morning. According to one source, celebrity attendees could tell when it was time to leave the parties. The source said that the difference between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. at the parties was stark.

A source shared why celebrities left Diddy’s parties early

Following accusations and lawsuits against Diddy, many of the celebrities who attended his parties have distanced themselves from him. A source said Leonardo DiCaprio, who attended Diddy’s infamous White Parties, had never heard of the sex parties, or “freak offs,” that allegedly occurred. Ray J agreed.

“I’ve never been in rooms that people are talking about, and I never knew they existed,” Ray J said, per Us Weekly. “A lot of people in the industry can agree with me on that sense.”

A source said that celebrities typically cleared out of the parties by 2 a.m. or 3 a.m. While they may not have known what was going to happen, it was clear that the parties had taken a turn.

“Girls would start to lose their clothes — that was the signal for people to leave,” a source said.

The parties could continue until 7 a.m. The hours after many guests left were reportedly notably different than the hours before.

“What happened before 2 a.m. pales in comparison to what happened at 5 a.m.,” the source said.

50 Cent speculated about why some celebrities haven’t spoken out about Diddy

50 Cent, who has long made his dislike of Diddy clear, said he stayed away from Diddy’s parties.

“I’ve been very vocal about not going to Puffy parties and doing s*** like that,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve been staying out of that s*** for years. It’s just an uncomfortable energy connected to it.”

He believes that some people know more than they are letting on, which is why they haven’t spoken out against Diddy.

“Some of them were involved, at the parties and enjoyed themselves, so they don’t know what the f*** is on tape or what’s not on tape, so they’re not going to say anything because they might have had too much fun,” he said. “And then you’ve got other people who look and go, ‘Well, that’s not my business and I don’t want to be in it.’”

He described what these parties were like

In 2002, Diddy spoke about how he prepared for one of his parties.

“This is what you need to do,” Diddy said on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, per Vibe Magazine. “Women. Beautiful women, of course. Beautiful men for the ladies, of course … You need to give the ladies what they need, too. Take care of your women. You can’t force the situation.”

He said he liked his parties to be “kinky.”

“We need alcohols,” he said. “You need some water. I don’t know if guys have noticed this, but a lot of ladies drink water at parties. So if you don’t have what they need, they gon’ leave. Gotta keep ’em there. You need locks on the doors… It’s a little kinky but, you know… rock with me. You need a lot of heat. Don’t have no air conditioning. Heat affects the alcohol and it also affects… you know, everybody gets a little bit more comfortable and loose. It builds up a nice little sweat.”

Diddy is currently being held without bail in a New York jail.
