‘Life After Lockup’: Kerok Gets Bad News in the Season Premiere [VIDEO]

Life after prison is no picnic. Just ask Britney and Kerok. In the new season of WE tv’s Life After Lockup (premiering October 5), the couple has big plans to move from Virginia to Texas. But a surprise phone call delivers some bad news that could upend their future together.

Britney from ‘Life After Lockup’ says life as a felon is ‘really freaking hard’

Viewers first met Britney and Kerok in 2023, when they appeared on Love After Lockup. The pair met while they were both incarcerated in the same facility. At the time, Kerok, a transgender man, was transitioning.

They continued their relationship after they both were released from prison. Even though their loved ones didn’t always understand their choices, they persevered in their dream of building a life together, though it hasn’t always been easy.

“I’ve been out of prison a little over a year,” Britney says in a clip from the season premiere. “When I came home, I thought it was going to be easy-peasy. But it is really freaking hard out here, yo, trying to start your life from nothing. Especially as a felon.”

Now, in the new season of Life After Lockup , Kerok and Britney looking to take another major step forward by leaving Virginia for a new life in Texas. Unfortunately, there could be a major problem with that plan.

Britney and Kerok pay a visit to a car mechanic to prepare for their road trip. Then, Kerok gets a call from his parole officer about his request to move to another state.

“Unfortunately, I’m not calling with very good news,” the parole officer says. “It is up to the state of Texas to approve or deny. And as of the current moment they have not granted approval for our request for reporting instructions. Which means you do not have approval by the state of Texas to travel or relocate there.”

“Damn it,” Kerok says.
