‘Love Is Blind’ Babies: Season 1’s Amber and Matt Barnett Expecting Their First Child

The reality TV host has made no secret that she wants couples who meet on the show to start having babies. Lachey’s wish finally came true earlier this April, when Bliss Poureetezadi and Zack Goytowski from season 4 welcomed a baby daughter. Then, in July, season 3’s Alexa and Brennon Lemiuex became parents when she gave birth to a daughter. Now, another Love Is Blind couple is preparing for a little one’s arrival.

Amber Pike, 32, and Matt Barnett, 34, are an OG Love Is Blind couple. They met and fell in love during the show’s first season, which was filmed in 2018 and aired in 2020.

Though the pair has kept a low profile since their time on the Netflix reality series, their romance has been going strong. And soon, they’ll be adding another member to their family.

Matt and Amber shared their happy news during an appearance on the first episode of The Love Seat (via YouTube ) , a new podcast from fellow season 1 couple Lauren and Cameron Hamilton.

“Over summer break, he just went and knocked me up,” Amber revealed.

During the 2021 Love Is Blind: After the Altar special , Matt said Amber was ready to have kids. He was also interested in starting a family but had concerns that they weren’t ready.

“I do [want to be a dad],” he said. “But where we live now, it’s an apartment complex. I’m not really wanting to have a kid at an apartment, basically.”

Although Matt and Amber had discussed having a baby, her pregnancy wasn’t something they’d actively planned for. The Love Is Blind alums were focused on career changes and going back to school when they discovered she was expecting.

“We got a lot of things going on,” Amber said when Lauren asked where things stood with them in 2024. “Going back to school. Matt’s got a new job … he’s in sales now and doing his thing and working up with that and really enjoying that. I went back to school. Finally decided on something else I want to do .. sent myself back to school because I felt like we were in a place where I could do that. I had the support and I was mentally there where I could do that.”

Learning she was about to be a mom was “very unexpected,” Amber admitted.

The couple didn’t provide any details about the baby’s due date or gender. But in a video montage of his and Amber’s relationship Matt posted on Insta g ram , he did share an image of himself cradling his wife’s bump.

“Where it started. Where we’ve been. Where we’re at…,” he captioned the post.

Love Is Blind Season 7 premiered Oct. 2. New episodes stream Wednesdays on Netflix.
