In October 2024, Lopez spoke to Interview Magazine about her next steps without Affleck in her life and how she intends to attain joy without the help of another romance.

A source told DailyMail.com that Affleck had no idea that Lopez was going to discuss their split in an interview. However, he’s not surprised.

“Ben knows that she will talk about the breakup forever,” the insider said. “He would love for her not to talk about it, but he feels she will always speak out.”

The source added that Affleck “didn’t get a heads-up that she was going to talk about their relationship, but he assumed that it would eventually happen.” While the actor feels like he’s “never going to get away” from Lopez speaking about their breakup, he’s “OK with however Jen has to deal with it.” As for Affleck, he hopes to keep some details close to the chest.

“People deal with loss and breakup in their own way, and this is what Jen had to do, and Ben has to accept it,” the insider added.

Jennifer Lopez discussed learning ‘lessons’ amid divorce

Jennifer Lopez didn’t directly name Ben Affleck while talking to Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine. However, she discussed moving forward without a man in her life and how she feels about stepping back into the world as a single woman.

“You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn’t,” Lopez explained. “And then, this summer, I had to be like, ‘I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'”

Lopez added that it feels “lonely, unfamiliar,” “scary,” “sad” and “desperate” in her current position. But she knows she can move forward with grace.

“Being in a relationship doesn’t define me,” she continued. “I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, ‘No, I’m actually good.'”

Lopez added that she had to relearn “lessons” that she thought she learned a long time ago. “And then you start examining it little by little saying, ‘OK, I did this, this was my part in it, this was what I should have seen early on, this is what I didn’t look at,'” she said.

Ben Affleck allegedly wanted to show the world that he and his ex remained ‘friendly’

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck fans hoped the couple might rekindle their spark amid their divorce proceedings. They met up with their kids at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel for brunch in September 2024. Insiders alleged that the couple displayed PDA. Additionally, a source told Page Six that meeting at the hotel was Affleck’s idea.

“It was Ben Affleck’s idea to meet there,” the insider said. “He wanted to show that they are friendly exes.”

Unfortunately for Bennifer fans, the exes have no plans of calling their divorce off.
