Jennifer Lopez has no problem finding relationships, but as her marriages have shown , it’s maintaining relationships that seem to be the challenge. A renowned celebrity matchmaker took a closer look at Lopez’s dating history to try to find the cause of her break ups.

Lopez’s dating history has been well documented in the spotlight. Of the men she’s dated in her life, the singer has married four of them. Her shortest marriage was with former waiter Ojani Noa , who she wedded from 1997 to 1998. Her longest was with Marc Anthony, who she was with between 2004 to 2014. Even Lopez once commented on this cycle of falling in love only to end up heartbroken again, which she chalked up to her own mistakes.

“Everybody has seen that I make mistakes. I rush in, I get swept up and I ignore the signs. But so many of us are guilty of these things,” she once told Elle (via Her ). “Each time it goes wrong, it’s hard. I get really hurt but I have to let myself go: “What did I do? What can I learn?” And as hard and as hurtful as things get, I want to believe I will be able to go one step higher. I’ve got to hope that if I keep going I will eventually get it right.”

In the wake of her recent break up with Affleck, a couple of celebrity matchmakers theorized why Lopez couldn’t seem to get it right. Celebrity matchmaker Alessandra Conti shared her expertise on the matter with Fox News Digital , where she compared Lopez’s relationship troubles to actor Elizabeth Taylor’s.

“Married four times, engaged six times , [she] has no problem falling in love and getting to the commitment stage with a man, but it appears that she may lack the tools needed to grow with a partner past that honeymoon phase,” Conti told the publication.

Additionally, Conti broke Lopez’s relationship problems down to a biological level.

“Biologically speaking, studies have shown that the hormone spikes that are present in the falling in love stages taper off around year two, and that is when love becomes a verb, and not just a cocktail of hormones and feelings,” Conti said.

Lopez has recently opened up about her breakup with Affleck , and her current relationship status as a whole. She asserted that she’s not seeing anyone, and it doesn’t seem like she plans to anytime soon. The Atlas star also considered her recent divorce to be a very valuable learning experience.

“Being in a relationship doesn’t define me,” she said on Interview . “I can’t be looking for happiness in other people. I have to have happiness within myself. I used to say I’m a happy person, but was still looking for something for somebody else to fill, and it’s just like, ‘No, I’m actually good.'”

Still, she couldn’t help but feel frustrated and disappointed with how her marriage ended. Especially when she seemed to believe it would be her last time walking down the aisle.

“And yeah, there’s times when I thought I figured it out, and then life goes, ‘Let’s send you another thing and see if you fall for it. Let’s see if you really have learned that lesson.’ And I hadn’t,” she said. “I understand that now in a much deeper way, which doesn’t mean that I won’t make mistakes in the future, but again, when your whole house blows up, you’re standing there in the rubble going, ‘How do I not ever let that happen again?’”
