Free acting class at Shreveport’s Little Theatre

SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – Would you like to act in community theatre? If so, an upcoming acting workshop might be just the ticket you need to get your foot in the stage door.

And did we mention that the class if free?

Shreveport Little Theatre ‘s acting workshop by Aubrey Brummet will take place on Sat., June 29, at 6 p.m. Spaces are limited for this free workshop, so call (318) 797-5283 or email robert.alford@lsus.edu to reserve your spot.

By incorporating music into the acting process and into the development of a character, actors can tap into the emotion they need for any given scene, time period, mood, or tempo of pacing.

In the first section of the acting class, students will learn about acting theory.

Students will be emailed a scene and asked to choose music and explain how their choice can enhance the scene.

The workshop will be held at 812 Margaret Place in Shreveport.

The free workshop has been supported by a grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council. Funds from the City of Shreveport, Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, are administered by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council .

The National Endowment for the Arts has also provided funding for this free event.
