Woodlawn’s receiver/returner Brandon Henderson sees recruiting attention heating up

Woodlawn has long been known to produce multi-sport athletes who translate to superstars at the collegiate level. Senior Brandon Henderson may be the latest in a group of Knights who produce highlight reels.

A standout on the basketball court for coach Kenny Wayne Goldman , Henderson is the guy you’ll want to check out this fall when the 2024 high school football season kicks off. He currently has offers from Louisiana Tech , South Florida, Northwestern and things are gaining momentum.

“I plan on committing soon,” Henderson said. “I’ll be looking at the school that best fits me and my future.”

The 6-foot, 165-pound speedster has a couple of college visits in the works.

“I plan on signing in December,” he said. “As an early enrollee, that is something my mom and I will discuss.”

Henderson is one of the top returning receivers, defensive backs and kick/punt returners in the area. He’s a three-year All-District 1-4A performer at multiple positions. Last year, he rang up 38 catches for 603 yards and eight TDs. He added 207 rushing yards with two additional scores.

As a safety, he had 48 tackles with five interceptions.

Meanwhile, he’s enjoying the attention from recruiters and the media.

“It’s definitely been surreal,” he said. “It’s not every day that you get recognized for your dedication and hard work.”
