SHREVEPORT, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) — Captain Shreve’s Lionel Prudhomme Jr. announced his commitment to play football at Arkansas on Friday morning at Youree Drive Middle School.

The three-star offensive lineman chose the Hogs over offers from Tulane, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, the University of Houston, and Texas Tech.

The senior feels that his time spent at Captain Shreve has played a big role in landing him the opportunity to play power-five ball.

“Every coach that I’ve had has helped me,” explained the Captain Shreve standout. “When I got to Shreve, I was playing football and I was talented, but they brought it out of me. They showed me that college is a real opportunity for me.”

Prudhomme is ranked as the No. 43 offensive lineman in the country and No. 26 overall recruit in Louisiana according to 247 Sports.

As for who sparked the love of football in the offensive lineman, all the credit goes to Prudhomme’s dad who played football at Grambling State.

“When I first started playing football (my dad) was always pushing me and telling me that I can be great,” reflected the future Razorback. “He told me that if I put in the work, I can always make it.”

When asked what kind of a player Arkansas is getting, “They’re getting a dog,” exclaimed Prudhomme. “That’s it. Just a dog. 100% dog.”
