Coroner ID's Shreveport's 36th homicide victim

Caddo Parish Coroner's Office has named the 36th homicide victim in Shreveport for 2024.

On July 15, Brion Morris, 21, was wounded in an altercation at Westover Road and Velva Street just after 11:45 p.m. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Heatlh where he was pronounced dead at 11:49 p.m.

According to the coroner's office, his death marks the 39th in the parish and 36th in the city.

The shooting is under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
