From tickets to talent, here's everything you need to know before going to Geek'd Con

Don't be surprised if you see strange creatures walking around downtown Shreveport this weekend because once again Geek'd Con is back at the Convention Center with "The biggest Pop Culture event in the Ark-La-Tex."

Since 2015, Geek'd Con has been bringing the comic book and pop culture convention to North Louisiana, "We're proud to help provide a fun, safe, family-friendly atmosphere for all aspects of our geek community to get together," reads their website .

Know before you go

Geek'd Con will take place on August 16th, 17th, and 18th at the Shreveport Convention Center. Hours are Friday 5 pm-9 pm, Saturday 9 am-7 pm and Sunday 10 am-5 pm.

Geek'd Con 2024 Guests

• Billy Zane - The well-known actor played Caledon Hockley in James Cameron's epic Titanic as well as playing the iconic pulp-inspired comic book hero The Phantom. He also had appearances in the pop culture hits such as The Boys, Psych and Twins Peaks as well as other characters in some of the most beloved shows in television.
• John C. McGinley - McGinley is best known for his role as Dr. Perry Cox in the Peabody and Emmy Award Winning show Scrubs. In addition, McGinley starred in the series Stan Against Evil. Other roles include appearances in Chicago PD, Burn Notice, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, WordGirl, The Boondocks, Dan Vs, and The Practice.
• Steve Downes - Best known as the voice of Master Chief from the Halo video game franchise.
• Kevin Durand - Durand has stared in two successful films, playing the lead antagonist Proximus Caesar in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes as well as Peter in the horror hit Abigail.
• Henry Thomas - Thomas played the iconic lead role of Elliott in the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. For his work as Elliott, he won a Young Artist Award, and nominations for a Golden Globe, BAFTA Award, and Saturn Award.
• Dee Wallace - Also from the 1982 blockbuster film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is Wallace who played the mother of Elliot.
• Mitch Pileggi - Pileggi is known for his role as FBI Assistant Director Walter Skinner in the legendary series The X-Files. He appeared in over 90 episodes as well as both feature films.

Also not to miss is the Robinson Film Center's event to kick off the Geek’d Con weekend with a screening of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial with appearances by Dee Wallace and Henry Thomas on Thursday evening. VIP ticket holders can start the night with an exclusive meet & greet with the special guests at 5 p.m. The screening will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by a moderated Q&A.
