15 Shreveport-Bossier athletes on Shreveport Times Week 7 Athlete of the Week football poll

Following an outstanding seventh week of football action, 15 athletes were selected for the Shreveport Times Football Player of the Week 7 ballot of 2024.

Supporters of the athletes can visit shreveporttimes.com to cast a vote for their favorite through Thursday evening. The winner will receive a backpack and a meal card courtesy of sponsors Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and Cosse and Silmon Orthodontics and will be announced on Friday.

Previously this season Bossier’s Mateo Guererro was voted as the Preseason Fan’s Choice Football Player of the Year and the Bearkats’ Kendrien Sims was the Week 1 poll winner, while BTW’s Aaron Dillard won in Week 2.

WEEK 7 ROUNDUPS: Prep football: Neville stops Ruston streak; Byrd, Parkway, Evangel, Loyola, Calvary among winners

BEST OF BEST: Top football performers in the Shreveport-Bossier City area for the week of Oct. 17-18

DOMINATION: Defensive dominators: North DeSoto’s Javon Brown, Konner Watson support each other

They were chosen because of their performance last week or because their names were submitted by their coach.

The Football High School Athlete of the Week selection will run throughout the Louisiana football season thanks to Raising Cane’s. Coaches and school administrators can submit their candidates for the recognition to jwatson@shreveporttimes.com.
