IMPACT: Heat Advisories issued across the area
It's been a steamy latter half of our holiday week and that trend continues today. In fact, it'll be even hotter this afternoon! Heat Advisories have been issued until 8 PM this evening, making it an IMPACT DAY. Highs look to rise back into the lower to middle 90s along with dew points in the 70s. That combo leads to feels like temps around 100° if not hotter during the heat of the day. Please remember your heat safety precautions. The other factor of our day will the storm threat. Chances are looking minimal but as a disturbance continues to work east this AM, a stray storm or two is possible. Any activity should work eastward around lunchtime with some clearing in store into the evening. If you have July 4th Celebrations this evening, expect dry but steamy conditions. Clouds then thicken tonight as an upper-level piece of energy moves through. That could help spark a few storms overnight. Another system moves our way tomorrow but we're not expecting a washout. A cold front is expected to swing through during the late afternoon. Isolated storms look to ignite as this boundary slides through, especially east. Behind it, the humidity relaxes for the end of the holiday weekend, but we're not expecting a cool-down. Highs hold in the 90s as we progress through Sunday and into next week. The unsettled pattern continues as well with storm chances becoming higher Tuesday into Wednesday. A stronger cold front is expected to move through in this timeframe with more widespread showers and storms on the table. It'll still be warm behind this boundary, but temps do look to become more seasonable. Afternoon readings look to top out in the mid-80s with still stray storms possible through the latter half of next week.
