GRAND RAPIDS – Elise Fennell of Caledonia and Jessica Jolly of Rockford birdied the first hole of sudden-death to win the Overall Division, and Joan Garety of Ada and Terry Delcamp, formerly of Grand Blanc, won an unprecedented eighth Senior Division title in the 14th GAM Women’s Four Ball Championship presented by Saint John’s Resort at Boulder Creek Golf Club Monday.

It has been over six weeks since 17-year-old Penelope “Penny” Wise was last seen after leaving her West Michigan home. Penny left her home near Morley Park in Cedar Springs, around 35 miles south of Big Rapids, around 6 p.m. on May 31, 2024, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. She left on foot and has not been seen since.

Belding United Methodist Church is shutting down after 120 years, according to Pastor Melissa Wagner. The church — located at 301 Pleasant St. — will host its final service Sunday, Aug. 11.
58-year-old female injured following motorcycle crash with deer
On Saturday, July 14 at approximately 8:50 P.M, deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a crash near 185th Avenue in Mecosta Township. During the investigation, it was revealed that a 58-year-old female from Stanwood was traveling northbound on 185th Avenue on her motorcycle when she struck a deer. After striking the deer, it caused the female to crash in the roadway.
