Shooting near Fiesta Foods leaves one dead
Police are investigating a shooting that killed a 44-year-old man who they say was attempting an armed break-in at an apartment complex on Wednesday evening. A news release sent out by the Las Cruces Police Department confirming the incident did not name the victim or any possible suspects. However, the release did say that the incident occurred on the 200 block of Madrid Avenue near Lowe’s Fiesta Foods around 11 p.m. on July 31.
