Decorative Arts Society awards more than $410,000 in grants to 14 OC nonprofits
Newport Beach-based Decorative Arts Society (DARTS) has awarded more than $410,000 in grants to 14 local community non-profit agencies, all of which provide critical services to Orange County women, children and families in need. DARTS has given more than $4.5 million to local non-profit organizations since its inception 29 years ago.

Encino home targeted twice by burglars in one week
Residents are on edge in an Encino neighborhood after a multi-million dollar home has been broken into twice in one week.Authorities responded around 10:30 p.m. on Monday to a home in the 4900 block of Edgerton Avenue near Moorpark Street for a burglary, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.It appeared that two men broke into the home, but it is unknown if they took anything, police said.The home was first targeted on Thursday, July 11, when two children and their babysitter were home when three people smashed a sliding door around midnight.No injuries were reported for either of the break-ins.The suspects identities remain unknown, and it is unclear if the same people are responsible for both burglaries.Authorities continue to search for the suspects and ask anyone with more information to contact them.The investigation is ongoing at this time.

The Southern California native spent the last five years at Oregon State and was a major contributor with the Beavers over the last four seasons. In his Oregon State career, Arnold made 151 tackles with 5.5 for loss. He also had 11 pass breakups, three interceptions and two forced fumbles in 48 appearances with 25 starts. Arnold, along with his brother Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, both transferred to USC from Oregon State this offseason. The siblings each have one year of eligibility remaining.

Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Downtown Los Angeles
A pedestrian in his 50s was struck and killed Tuesday in downtown Los Angeles and police are searching for the vehicle that struck him and drove away.
