    #6 Sigourney hands #3 Remsen St. Mary’s softball first loss of season in 3-1 win over Hawks in 1A State quarterfinals

    FORT DODGE, Iowa (KCAU) – Sigourney starting pitcher Carly Goodwin struck out 13 batters while allowing two hits in a complete game effort while also notching the game’s first run in the sixth inning, propelling the Savages to the 3-1 win over Remsen St. Mary’s.

    RSM senior Carmindee Ricke notched the lone RBI for the Hawks, who fell to 23-1 on the season. Pitcher Marina Cronin fanned four batters in seven innings of work.

    Remsen St. Mary’s will play in the consolation bracket tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
