USPS opens Big Sky post office
This morning, July 15, the United States Postal Service opened its new post office in Big Sky, the community’s first federally operated post office. The post office is located at 110 Meadow Village Dr., around the corner from the now-retired Big Sky Post Office, which operated for decades under contract with USPS—the old location will keep its P.O. box lobby open through Saturday, July 20, to allow P.O. box-holders to pick up remaining mail.

Haze in Jackson Hole coming from wildfires in Idaho, Oregon and Montana
JACKSON, Wyo. — For those wondering where the haze that’s settled in Jackson Hole is coming from, the answer is wildfires to the west of the valley. The smoke from several large wildfires blazing in eastern Oregon, central Idaho and southern Montana is blowing east and settling in the valley, according to Brett McDonald, Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Riverton, Wyoming.
Powell Baseball Player Set To Return After Suffering Life-Threatening Rattlesnake Bite
Powell resident Jhett Schwahn, 19, is thankful he always wears long pants when he hikes. Earlier this month, it might’ve saved his life from a rattlesnake bite. On July 8, Schwahn and his girlfriend were hiking down from the summit of 8,123-foot Heart Mountain in northwest Wyoming when Schwahn was suddenly bitten by a rattlesnake in the late afternoon hours. He heard no rattle from the reptile that pounced out from a bush near the trail.

The Lovell Legion baseball program hosts the 2024 Wyoming Class ‘C’ State Tournament for Legion Baseball teams in the state. The tournament is July 18-22, 2024, at Cowley Field. These are the youngest players involved with Legion baseball in Wyoming. They are 15 years old and younger. The double-elimination bracket has eight teams. All games are seven innings.

Kisha Bear still missing from Rocky Boy reservation.
(Rocky Boy – KRTV) Law enforcement is continuing to ask for help in finding Rickisha ‘Kisha’ Bear, a missing 19-year-old woman last seen on February 4th, 2024. The Chippewa Cree woman was visiting the Flathead Indian Reservation from the Rocky Boy’s Reservation. In addition to those two reservations, Bear has ties to Billings.

A white 2011 Ford F150, driven by a 64-year-old male from Lucern Valley, California, and grey 2020 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 45-year-old female from Bozeman, Montana, were traveling eastbound on US 20. A grey 2018 Kia Sportage, driven by a 67-year-old female from St. Anthony, and a grey 2007 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 46-year-old female from St. Anthony, were traveling westbound on US 20.
