Suspect attacks security guard with skateboard at Santa Ana Target
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Police in Santa Ana are looking for the person who was seen on security footage attacking a Target security guard with a skateboard. It happened on June 10, at the Target store on W. 17th Street. The Santa Ana Police Department shared video of the incident and pictures of the suspect on social media earlier this week.

2 charged with murdering Long Beach corn vendor caught in the crossfire of shooting
LONG BEACH, Calif. - Two men have been charged with the murder of a street vendor in Long Beach in March, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced Thursday. Rahman Abdallah and Raylon Akers were both charged with murdering Yener Ramirez, a Long Beach street corn vendor back on March 20, District Attorney George Gascón announced. A third person, James Havlicheck, was charged with accessory after the fact.
Rams Set to Open Training Camp on Westside
LOS ANGELES - The Chargers and Rams will open their training camps Wednesday at different sites than recent years, while two other NFL teams will open camps in Orange County. After training at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa from 2017-23, the Chargers will start their inaugural training camp at their new El Segundo facility, The Bolt, on Wednesday, continuing through Aug. 8. No tickets are available for the general public for practices through Aug. 4. Registration for free mobile tickets for the final four open practices, Aug. 5-8, will open Monday at 10 a.m. at Chargers.com/camp.
Officials battle 'highly aggressive' red imported fire ant infestation in Southern California
Agricultural officials in Southern California are battling an active infestation of red imported fire ants that are "highly aggressive in nature," and pose a risk to California's agricultural economy. The infestation occurred at a private property in Montecito, in Santa Barbara County, according to a recent press release from the Santa Barbara County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office. Located over 90 miles north of Los Angeles, Montecito is best known as a celebrity enclave with Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle among the town's residents. Officials did not name the owners of the private property.

Rep. Norma Torres says white powder sent to her SoCal office, staff sheltering in place
In what she termed an "attack" on her district office, Rep. Norma Torres of the Inland Empire says two letters were sent there containing a "white, powdery substance."Torres, D-Ontario, says while there were no injuries or illnesses reported, her staffers at the district office are sheltering in place until the substance can be analyzed."Hazmat teams are on site investigating the substance and my staff are remaining in place until more information is found," Torres wrote on X.
