When children in a Summit County subdivision set up a lemonade stand in their neighborhood, they probably weren't expecting law enforcement to show up.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, Home Owner's Association members of the Wildernest neighborhood in Silverthorne called to report a lemonade stand that had been set up by local children for blocking a roadway earlier this month.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they determined that the lemonade stand wasn't blocking a roadway, but did ask the children to move back a few feet from the road for their own safety.

Deputies then moved on to address parking issues in the area, but the situation involving the lemonade stand didn't stop there.

The original reporting parties came out of their house and started to yell at the children for being on private property.

Deputies returned and determined that the property where the lemonade stand was setup was HOA property, thus was shared by all members of the HOA. Given that the children's parents were members of the HOA, it was decided that they had the right to be there.
