    Big name makes an appearance at an Upstate festival

    A big name in the music industry served as the key performance at one Upstate 4th of July Festival.

    The Simpsonville Freedom Fest was held early this year, taking place on Sunday June 30th, as July 4th falls on a Thursday this year.

    The weekend event saw a huge attendance to celebrate the annual holiday and a live performance from industry titan Smash Mouth.

    The weekend also saw annual events Party Like a Patriot in Greer and the City of Fountain Inn’s fireworks spectacular.

    Other events are still upcoming, set to run on Thursday, July 4th itself. These events include:
    Fireworks on the Fourth at Unity Park in downtown Greenville from 6-10pm.
    Red, White, and Boom at Barnet Park in Spartanburg from 5:30-10pm.
    The Historic Easley 4th of July Festival , which begins on Wednesday, July 3rd and will host country artist Joe Nichols with a fireworks display after the concert around 9:45pm.
