Storm reports: Nine confirmed tornadoes from July 15 derecho
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Severe storms blasted through central Illinois on July 15, bringing widespread damaging wind, heavy rain and tornadoes to the region. Observed thunderstorm winds reached over 100 mph in a few locations, both a result of straight-line winds and tornadoes. Outside of tornadoes, most areas experienced wind gusts 60 to 80 mph which resulted in numerous trees and power lines being damaged across the region.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a weekend burglary at a Sandoval home. Sheriff’s Deputies say the breakin was at a home in the 300 block of North Main Street.
