Woman Arrested for Alleged Hit-and-Run Friday Night in Carmi
CARMI – A woman was taken to and booked in the White County Jail and released with a Notice to Appear after being involved in an alleged hit-and-run Friday night in Carmi. According to Carmi Police, officers were sent to Pundrakes convenience store for a hit-and-run around 10:50 p.m.
Marion County Sheriff’s Department investigates Sandoval burglary
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a weekend burglary at a Sandoval home. Sheriff’s Deputies say the breakin was at a home in the 300 block of North Main Street. Entry was gained by breaking in a door. Items from the home were found in the yard and alleyway. A gun, comic books and knives were among items taken from the home.
Salem Community High School Board gets construction update and raises breakfast and lunch prices
The Salem Community High School Board agreed to raise breakfast and lunch prices at Monday night’s meeting after learning an Illinois State Board of Education Audit found they are too low. Superintendent Dr. Brad Detering says to expect a dime increase each of the next few years in breakfast and lunch prices to come into compliance.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky authorities are warning the community about credit card skimmers appearing in retail and grocery stores. Elizabethtown woman dies in motorcycle crash on WK Parkway
An Elizabethtown woman has died in a motorcycle accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway. The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash Friday evening at approximately 8:15 in the westbound lanes of the parkway near the 43-mile marker.
