Grab your lederhosen, and get ready to celebrate Evansville's rich German heritage at the annual Germania Maennerchor Volksfest. What exactly is a "Maennerchor," anyway. After a quick Google search, we learned that, according to Wikipedia, "Maennerchor" (pronounced MEN-ER-CORE) means, "men's chorus" which is a name given to German Social Clubs.

Democrats have won every election for this district since 1930. A Daily Kos analysis of the round of redistricting following the 2020 census concluded that the 1st district had shifted towards Republicans. Joe Biden (D) received 53.4% of the 2020 presidential vote under the new district lines and 53.6% under the old district lines.

EST Gee's manager was reportedly shot and killed in his car following the rapper's hometown show in Louisville, Ky. On Monday (July 22), local Louisville news station WLKY reported that 31-year-old Devontae Beach had been found shot multiple times inside a car in downtown Louisville early on Sunday morning (July 21). Other outlets including TMZ reported that Beach was EST Gee's current manager, and went by EST Big Beach. The shooting occurred in the 800 block of West Main Street, with EMS pronouncing Beach dead at the scene. There are no suspects at this time.
