City Supports Visitation Center For Safe Exchanges

The Sioux Center City Council took action to support safe family interactions through the Family Crisis Centers’ planned Family Visitation Center. The council approved the City serving as the conduit for a $600,000 Community Development Block Grant application to help pay for this $1 million project. The City has previously served as a conduit for CDBG grant applications for the Family Crisis Centers. The council also unanimously approved a $100,000 contribution to help move the project forward. Andreas Klein to perform piano recital

Internationally acclaimed pianist, Andreas Klein, will perform a recital in the B.J. Haan Auditorium at Dordt University on Friday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. His program, “Bach, Beethoven, and Beyond,” will include works by J. S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Prokofiev. He will conduct a masterclass Saturday, October 23 at 11 a.m. in the B.J. Haan Auditorium, at which several Dordt piano students will perform. Read more

Award Honors Sioux Center Wastewater Facility's Design

Sioux Center’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is receiving high recognition for innovative design and construction. The City of Sioux Center, along with engineering firm Bolton & Menk, Inc., won an Outstanding Civil Engineering Award for the Sioux Center wastewater treatment facility, awarded by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Iowa Section. Women's Cross Country Holds Spot In National Poll

Dordt University continues to hold a spot in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 poll released earlier today by the national office. After moving up four spots in the second edition of the coaches' poll released last week, the Defenders maintained their spot at No.14 in today's rating. Dordt is one of four teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference recognized in this week's poll, joining No.11 Concordia, No.24 Hastings and (RV) Morningside. Read more
