SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Now that the water has gone down, the Riverside neighborhood of Sioux City is starting to clean up and clear out their flood-damaged homes.

With the city working to take care of the trash, this is just the beginning. Local waste companies like Gill Hauling have been working with city officials to get every truck and dumpster to help residents get rid of the debris as soon as possible.

“It’s been pretty hectic, we’re trying to make the biggest dent we can,” Mike Keeran with Gill Hauling said.

While it’s difficult to wait, officials are asking residents to be patient, as local waste management companies deal with the influx of materials.
