SIOUX CITY, Iowa ( KCAU ) —  Help is being offered in many ways. None more important than basic nutrition. A local restaurant was helping out the people at McCook Lake with a hot meal on Tuesday.

The owners and staff at Sioux City’s Sneaky’s Chicken, delivered more than 600 pieces of chicken, salad, rolls, and potatoes to the Isaak Walton League in McCook Lake Tuesday evening. The owner says the hope is to give the flood victims one less thing to worry about.

“These people have got their minds on other things. They don’t need to be worrying about food if everybody can pitch in and take a little bit of the burden off in some of the easier places, for 600 pieces of chicken is not a lot of work,” Sneaky’s owner Dave Ferris said. “I think it takes a lot of stress out of their lives. They can sit down and have a good meal and maybe take their minds off some of the tragedy for just a while.”
