    Sioux City man sentenced to probation for setting fire with bible

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa ( KCAU ) —  A man who was accused of using a Bible to set a fire has accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty.

    According to court documents, Robelio Cabrera Escobar, 29, of Sioux City, was placed on probation for four years for one count of second-degree arson. This charge was amended from first-degree arson as part of a plea deal.

    Documents state that Cabrera Escobar will also be placed in a residential treatment facility as part of the conditions of his probation.

    Cabrera Escobar’s charge stems from an incident in which he locked himself in his bedroom and set a bible on fire while other residents were home, including one child.
